Dr. Michael A. Bogdan is a cosmetic fellowship trained plastic
surgeon who is certified
by the American Board of Plastic Surgery. Born in Washington DC, he received a dual Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Maryland with the distinction of Summa Cum Laude. To pursue an interest in the medical sciences, he moved to California and attended Stanford University, where he obtained his Medical Doctorate. During this time, he had the pleasure of working with Dr. Mason on Stanford's Plastic Surgery team, where he acquired a keen interest in the intellectual diversity and the technical precision required for the procedures of plastic surgery.
Dr. Bogdan was selected into the residency program at Stanford University Medical Center, where he completed six years of General Surgery and Plastic Surgery training. During his residency, he discovered his love for the challenges of facial cosmetic surgery and rhinoplasty. He decided to refine his surgical techniques by pursuing a fellowship in Aesthetic Surgery. He completed his fellowship training at the prestigious Manhattan Eye, Ear & Throat Hospital in association with the Institute of Reconstructive Plastic Surgery at New York University Medical Center. While there, he acquired the most cutting edge techniques available for cosmetic surgery of the face, breast, and body by working directly with world renowned leaders in the field of aesthetic plastic surgery. Dr. Bogdan strives to stay on the forefront of plastic surgery and has published numerous papers on aesthetic and reconstructive plastic surgery. A recent journal article he co-authored won the award for best scientific paper at the California Society of Plastic Surgeons and the Tiffany award at the American Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgeons national meeting.
After completing his fellowship, Dr. Bogdan was invited to join a thriving cosmetic surgery group in Napa, California. He found that it was a beautiful place to live and practice, but also found it did not meet all the special needs of his family. During the 2005 Aesthetic Meeting in Orlando, Florida, Dr. Mason had suggested he consider the Dallas / Fortworth region. It was a difficult decision, but after visiting and finding that Southlake was a wonderful place to practice and a perfect match for his family, in 2007 he decided to join Southlake Plastic Surgery.
